Doc Rivers discusses return of Danuel House Jr. in a Sixers win at home

Doc Rivers discusses the return of Danuel House Jr. from injury as the Philadelphia 76ers pick up a win at home.

PHILADELPHIA–The Philadelphia 76ers have been dealing with a slew of injuries and guys being in and out of the lineup as that has been something that has held them back a bit. Even in Friday’s win over the Golden State Warriors, the Sixers were still dealing with injury issues.

Still missing Tyrese Maxey, the Sixers lost Furkan Korkmaz to a non-COVID illness and then Tobias Harris to back pain before the contest began. Philadelphia had to overcome those issues in order to knock off the Warriors, who were dealing with their own injury issues as well.

On a positive injury note, the Sixers welcomed Danuel House Jr. back to the lineup after he missed three games due to a left foot laceration. He had six points in 15 minutes of playing time and he knocked down a triple.

“It’s tough for him,” said coach Doc Rivers. “I thought in the second half, he was better. I really wanted to start him today (Friday) just so we have more shooting on the floor, but he literally hadn’t played. We kept him out in the first quarter, literally I kept him out on the floor a straight stretch literally for conditioning, and he knew what I was doing so it worked out.”

The Sixers will now look to continue to grow their team and they will need House Jr. to remain healthy so he can remain in the rotation. Rivers will then need to come up with a stable rotation as they move forward with their title plans.
