The Brooklyn Nets have made it through most of its offseason and have added some players that should be impactful for the team as it embarks on a playoff run next season. As next season is still months away, it’s time to talk about one of the areas that could be of concern for the organization.
In a recent article by ClutchPoints, Anthony Riccobono stated that the biggest concern for the Nets is its playmaking, or lack of it, to be more specific. As the roster stands right now, Brooklyn has guys like Spencer Dinwiddie, Ben Simmons, and Mikal Bridges who can make plays for themselves and others in addition to free-agent Dennis Smith Jr.
While that collection of names doesn’t scream All-NBA creators, those players can bring a lot to an offense that is looking to complement its effective defense. With that being said, it should be noted that after the trade deadline, starting with the Feb. 11 game against the Philadelphia 76ers and ending before the last game of the season, Brooklyn was 22nd in the league in offensive rating (113.7).
Next season should be a better representation of what the offense should like since this current iteration of the Nets will have had a full offseason together unlike last season when this group had to find a way to use the last months of the season to gel while winning at the same time.
