The Boston Celtics are by all accounts one of the scariest teams any franchise in the 2022 NBA Playoffs might face, but does that make them a legitimate option to make it to the final round of the looming postseason?
Increasingly finding themselves being described as a title contender by virtue of their league-best defense and top-10 offense, by definition the Celtics ought to be expected to have at least a shot at getting to the 2022 NBA Finals for the name to be more than a PR stunt, but is there enough evidence out there that Boston ought to be included in such lofty company?
In a season with no clear-cut juggernaut with a consensus view that that team is going to win it all, and with such a pronounced point differential since the new year, it’s hard not to buy that the Celtics could very well hang Banner 18 this summer.
Check out the clip embedded above to hear what the hosts of the CLNS Media “Garden Report” podcast had to say about this topic after Boston beat up on the Denver Nuggets so hard, head coach Mike Malone sat his starters to begin the second half.
