Last season was a huge period of transition for the Pittsburgh Steelers. A team doesn’t just move on after the retirement of a Hall of Fame quarterback like Ben Roethlisberger. But the Steelers did all they could to brace for the change and plan for the future when they drafted Kenny Pickett in the first round of the 2022 NFL draft.
Pickett took over the starting job from Mitch Trubisky in the fourth game of the season and never looked back. There were some serious growing pains but my the second half of the season, Pickett looked confident and more in control of the offense. He finished the year with 2,404 passing yards in 13 games (12 starts), 10 total touchdowns and nine interceptions. Pickett was 7-5 in his 12 starts including going 5-1 in his final six starts.
But despite all of this, there feels like many fans aren’t sold on Pickett and want to see the Steelers attempt to upgrade the quarterback position this offseason. Whether that is the NFL draft or free agency, some fans just aren’t sold on Pickett. So we had to ask about it.
