The Baltimore Ravens released veteran defensive lineman Calais Campbell on Monday, ending a three-year partnership. The team put out an official statement following the move, with general manager Eric DeCosta calling Campbell’s career “Hall of Fame-worthy”.
Following the move, Josina Anderson of CBS Sports was able to text with Campbell about his thoughts moving forward. While DeCosta didn’t rule out a reunion in his statement, Campbell’s text to Anderson didn’t make it seem promising that he would be returning to the Ravens, saying that “everything happens for a reason”.
Text from Calais Campbell on the next chapter of his NFL future after moving on from the #Ravens: "I love Baltimore, but everything happens for a reason. I am going to be ready to dominate for someone next season. Some team is gonna get a beast out there."
