The NBA regular season wrapped up on Sunday night – with the Philadelphia 76ers and Utah Jazz securing the top overall seeds in their respective conferences – and for the first time in more than two months, there was a day on the calendar with zero NBA games.
The basketball drought, fortunately, is short. The NBA’s new play-in tournament will begin on Tuesday night with the Eastern Conference matchups, Hornets at Pacers and Wizards at Celtics, before the Western Conference takes center stage on Wednesday. The play-in round will conclude on Friday, the first round will kick off on Saturday, and fans will be in for a few glorious months of basketball with the Finals concluding in July – just before the start of the Tokyo Olympics.
