Gameloft is bringing Encanto, Simba, and at least one more princess in 2023’s Disney Dreamlight Valley DLC, the studio announced in a new roadmap for the life-sim. The first round of new updates will launch in February, and outside the paid Star Path updates, all the DLC is free.
The first update adds Mirabel from Encanto, though apparently no Encanto-themed world yet, and adds Olaf from Frozen. Gameloft also teased something new for Frozen Heights, the ice-themed biome that apparently has secrets we’ve yet to uncover.
April’s update brings The Lion King’s Simba to the valley in a new Lion King-themed realm, following Scar’s debut in 2022. Gameloft also plans to celebrate Disney’s 100th anniversary and the Disney parks through the Star Path, though whether these will also include free celebrations isn’t clear.
In summer, another princess arrives in the valley, and considering the announcement is plastered under a pumpkin, we’d be surprised if that princess doesn’t end up being Cinderella. Whoever it is, their story coincides with more of Dreamlight Valley’s lore, as Gameloft promises to start unraveling the secrets of the Forgetting.
Other updates planned for 2023 include multiplayer, more realms and characters, and new additions to the clothing and furnishing catalogues. None of these or the three major updates have a firm release date yet, so they may fluctuate.
