In late July, the Washington Huskies NIL collective Montlake Futures announced a unique event: an opportunity to have dinner with eight-time Super Bowl champion Bill Belichick. Scheduled for October 4, the night before Washington takes on Michigan in a national championship rematch, the event won’t be cheap and will cost any fans interested in attending $25,000.
No, that’s not a typo.
Montlake Futures sold the dinner as “leadership, the state of football, storytelling, pictures, and autographs throughout the event.” However, with the price tag, it might only appeal to a very select crowd.
“We talk often and have established a really good relationship on numerous fronts,” coach Jedd Fisch said during fall camp when asked about the dinner. “We talk about different ideas, different thoughts, and that was one when we were having dinner one night in the spring and talked about this opportunity that was coming up.”
“We have a season ahead of us, and we need to raise money, and we need to be able to continue to provide at the highest level. And how many people would dream of the opportunity to sit down and have a two or three-hour dinner with a guy who’s won eight Super Bowls? We felt like this was a great shot at it, and we’ll see what else we can incorporate in that weekend.”
Fisch said that each participant in the dinner would be able to have a lot of one-on-one time with Belichick, and for that price tag, hopefully, the attendees will get at least a second plate of food to go along with what should be an extremely intriguing conversation.
