Former UFC dual-champion McGregor put up a valiant effort in a TKO loss against undefeated legendary boxer Floyd Mayweather in 2017, and hasn’t entered the ring since.

McGregor called out influencer KSI for a bare-knuckle boxing match. But his training partner Danis, who withdrew from a boxing match against KSI in January due to being underprepared, doubts “The Notorious” would actually entertain the idea.

“I think that’s just stupid. I think Conor’s the Muhammad Ali of fighting,” Danis said on the Full Send Podcast. “The guys that are taking these fights is because they’re broke. They need the money. Conor is the GOAT of fighting, and I don’t think he would do it.”

Danis returns to action Oct. 14 when he boxes Logan Paul in a six-round bout at 195 pounds. The fight will take place on “The PRIME Card” headlined by Tommy Fury vs. KSI under the Misfits Boxing banner. It goes down at AO Arena in Manchester, England and streams on DAZN pay-per-view.

McGregor said he will train Danis for his boxing debut. According to Danis, there were plans of him and McGregor promoting the fight by making an appearance during a WWE show alongside Paul, but it fell through. Danis has also been posting pictures of Paul’s fiancee and ripped him for his lack of promotion for their fight.

“We were supposed to promote the fight on that card and they canceled that,” Danis said. “Logan and me were going to do a ‘Smackdown’ and Conor was maybe going to come out with me and confront Logan at a ‘Smackdown’ at MSG when Conor was here, and then that didn’t happen. He can’t say anything about promoting. He’s the one that hasn’t promoted sh*t.”
