The Washington Redskins aren’t being shy about pursuing the NFL’s best receivers.
Those Redskins reportedly made a massive offer to Dallas Cowboys wideout Amari Cooper before he re-signed with the team.
And according to Albert Breer, they were probably in on the Stefon Diggs sweepstakes.
Diggs got traded to the Buffalo Bills very late Monday night for a massive haul of picks.
And Diggs has been a hot topic around the Redskins for quite some time, with even Dwayne Haskins recruiting him.
Haskins support or not, it’s easy to see why the Redskins might’ve ducked out of these talks if they had even taken part. The haul for Diggs was massive and he’s got a big contract. At some point, sacrificing long-term assets doesn’t make a ton of sense when building around a rookie.
But again, this is another sign the Redskins want a massive upgrade at wideout. The question now becomes — who else might be available?
The Patriots were another team that talked to the Vikings about Stefon Diggs on Monday. The Redskins had interest, too, but their draft pick situation (they weren't going to trade the second overall pick, and have no second-rounder) made it tough.
So Buffalo it is.
