Did the Detroit Pistons expose a weakness in the Boston Celtics?

The Boston Celtics needed to go to overtime to secure a win against the Detroit Pistons.

The Boston Celtics got off to an uncharacteristically slow start against the Detroit Pistons on Thursday (Dec. 18.) By midway through the second half, the Celtics were trailing by 21 points, and a potential loss looked to be on the cards. However, a strong second-half performance ensured the Celtics secured a win and kept their undefeated home streak alive, albeit via overtime.

According to the YouTube channel “Synthetic Sports,” the Piston’s first half against Boston highlighted some of the team’s weaker areas. The video then goes on to detail why the Celtics could fall short in their bid to win a championship at the end of the season.

Nevertheless, it’s worth remembering that Boston went into their game against Detroit following a four-game Western Conference road trip and had Jayson Tatum playing on a sprained ankle while Jaylen Brown was absent from the rotation.
