Even as his absence has continued throughout the offseason, most have still expected Rob Gronkowski to eventually return to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for one more year catching passes from Tom Brady.
But did he just give us all a hint that he’s hanging up his cleats for the second time, instead of taking one final victory lap with the GOAT in Tampa Bay?
Responding to a post on Instagram from Bucs running back Leonard Fournette, Gronkowski made a statement of support for his teammate, but not the kind that Tampa Bay fans might want to hear (via ESPN’s Jenna Laine):

The Bucs have maintained that they have no timetable for a decision from Gronkowski, who has been contemplating his future after two seasons with the Bucs. After Brady announced his return after a 41-day “retirement” of his own, most assumed Gronk’s return was a formality.
We’ll see.
