The absurdity of the Las Vegas Raiders and Los Angeles Chargers ending in a tie and having BOTH teams make it to the postseason was a dream. There was no way they’d play for a tie, right?
Except the two AFC West rivals ended up in overtime and, with under 40 seconds to go, it was in play until Chargers coach Brandon Staley called a timeout, the Raider changed their plans and Vegas eventually won on a Daniel Carlson field goal, eliminating Los Angeles from the postseason.
Justin Herbert appeared to want the tie, and then we got video of Chargers RB Austin Ekeler shaking hands with Raiders players … and a lot of fans are wondering: Did he hear from Raiders long-snapper Trent Sieg that Vegas would have run out the clock for the tie late in overtime?
