[autotag]Arkansas baseball[/autotag] didn’t have to look far to add their latest commitment from the transfer portal. Friday afternoon, Missouri transfer outfielder [autotag]Ty Wilmsmeyer[/autotag] announced he would be joining the Diamond Hogs next season.
Wilmsmeyer had his best collegiate season, by far, in 2023. He tallied 60 hits, 25 RBIs, 7 homeruns and an impressive .311 batting average in 54 games for the Tigers. He also recorded a .380 on-base percentage and .482 slugging percentage.
The Springfield, Missouri native’s .311 batting average was tied for the best on a Missouri team which finished 30-24 (10-20 SEC) and missed the NCAA Tournament.
Wilmsmeyer plays centerfielder and pitched on four occasions for Missouri, but it’s believed he won’t see any time on the mound for the Diamond Hogs. He will have one season of eligibility left after spending four seasons with the Tigers.
He is the second portal commitment for Dave Van Horn thus far, joining Texas Tech’s Hudson White.
