Dez Bryant had a classy response to CeeDee Lamb wearing No. 88 with the Cowboys

Awesome.

When it comes to Dallas Cowboys wide receivers, the No. 88 holds special significance.

Cowboys greats Drew Pearson, Michael Irvin and Dez Bryant have all sported the number. And Cowboys first-round pick CeeDee Lamb is set to be the latest Dallas receiver to don the prestigious digits.

And, yes, he has the approval of Dez Bryant.

After getting drafted by the Cowboys, Lamb — who wore No. 2 at Oklahoma — said he intended to wear No. 10 with the Cowboys. But Cowboys owner Jerry Jones stepped in and said he’d push for Lamb to wear No. 88 to honor Jones’ late Arkansas teammate, Jerry Lamb, who died in December and also wore 88.

So, when one Twitter user wondered what Dez thought of Lamb’s new number, the former Cowboys receiver opted to respond with encouragement for the new No. 88.

He said on Twitter, “BE YOU and BE GREAT.”

Given that the initial tweet was looking to stir the pot between the receivers, it was great to see Bryant come in with a classy response rather than feed a nonexistent rift.
