De’Von Achane, Raheem Mostert dealing with injuries

The Dolphins didn’t practice today, but said neither Raheem Mostert nor De’Von Achane would’ve participated if they did.

Just a day after the Miami Dolphins kicked off their 2024 season with a win against the Jacksonville Jaguars, the team had to file its first injury report before a Thursday night game against the Buffalo Bills.

While the Dolphins didn’t practice, they provided an estimation of what participation would look like if they did. And both of the team’s top running backs, Raheem Mostert and De’Von Achane, would’ve sat out practice, the Dolphins say.

Neither Mostert nor Achane left the game Sunday against the Jaguars due to their respective chest and ankle injuries. However, the Dolphins leaned on Jeff Wilson Jr. in the fourth quarter, giving the third back on the depth chart five of the last nine rushing attempts. The other four were split between Achane and fullback Alec Ingold.

The biggest name on the Buffalo Bills’ injury report is Josh Allen, who dealt with a hand issue in their win against the Arizona Cardinals. On Monday, head coach Sean McDermott said that Allen will play Thursday and he ruled out cornerback Taron Johnson.
