Details of WR Byron Pringle’s contract with Bears

The Bears are expected to sign WR Byron Pringle. See the details of his contract here:

The Chicago Bears have finally made some moves at wide receiver, one of which included agreeing to terms with former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Byron Pringle.

Bears general manager Ryan Poles made it clear a focal point of the offseason would be the address wide receiver, where there haven’t been any big splashes in free agency. Instead, Poles has added bargain players with the potential to contribute on offense and will likely target wide receiver in the NFL draft.

Poles knows Pringle well from his time in Kansas City, and Pringle climbed the depth chart with the Chiefs. He’s been productive in a reserve role in one of the league’s best offenses, and he has the chance to break out with the Bears.

Details of Pringle’s contract have emerged, and it’s certainly reasonable, assuming Pringle thrives in a WR2 or WR3 role. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, it’s a one-year, $6 million contract with $4 million full guaranteed and $2 million in incentives.

Pringle is coming of his best season, where he had 42 catches for 568 yards and five touchdowns in 17 games with the Chiefs. Where things currently stand, Pringle looks to be the No. 2 wide receiver behind Darnell Mooney.

Pringle’s signing comes on the heels of the Bears also signing wide receiver Equanimeous St. Brown, who will serve more as a depth piece than a starter like Pringle. Pringle was seemingly buried on Kansas City’s depth chart, and he has a real shot to prove himself and earn a long-term deal
