The Bears are expected to sign RB D’Andre Swift. See the details of his contract here:

The Chicago Bears have made their first move in free agency agreeing to terms with running back D’Andre Swift.

While running back wasn’t a huge need compared to others on the roster, there were reports the Bears wanted to add a dynamic, playmaking running back to the roster. And they certainly have that in Swift.

Details of Swift’s contract have emerged, and the Bears got an affordable deal considering what guys like Saquon Barkley and Josh Jacobs are expected to get north of $10 million per year.

For Swift, it’s a three-year deal worth $24.5 million with $15.3 million guaranteed, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Swift will get $16.5 million in the first two years, an average of $8.25 million.

Swift is coming off a career year with the Eagles, where he rushed for 1,049 yards with 4.6 yards per carry and five touchdowns. He also provided a threat as a pass catcher, hauling in 39 catches for 214 yards and a score. Swift earned his first career Pro Bowl nod in 2023.

Swift is coming to the Bears to serve as the starting running back. With the expectation that Chicago will trade quarterback Justin Fields, the Bears will need to replace his production — as he’s been the run game over the past couple of years. And Swift could be the guy to do just that in a running back room also featuring Khalil Herbert and Roschon Johnson.
