When most NFL teams pull away with wins to the magnitude of a 45-0 rout, they celebrate and take away the positives from it.
When Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots do it, it’s a time for reflection on the minor errors that could’ve been fixed. The Patriots dominated the Chargers in all three phases of the game — finding a way to even score twice on special teams.
Undrafted second-year wideout Gunner Olszewski recorded his first receiving touchdown on a 38-year reception and also had a 70-yard punt return for a touchdown. Devin McCourty took a blocked field goal to the house and Cam Newton had two rushing touchdowns.
It was a good day.
But, here’s Belichick’s take on it.
Always room for improvement, even after a 45-0 win.

Never change, Bill Belichick.
