The game we thought would never get here is finally over and the Pittsburgh Steelers come out perfect at 11-0. The game wasn’t exactly quality football on any front but given the circumstances, no one expected it. Pittsburgh was able to put the game away late and pull off a close 19-14 win.
Rust from a week off was evident and the Steelers never really shook it off on offense. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger might not need the practice to play well but clearly, his wide receivers do. By my count Steelers wide receivers had seven drops in the game and overall there were around 10 drops by Steelers skill position players.
Defensively, the Steelers stepped up when they needed to and even had to overcome some of their own lapses to hold off the Ravens. Pittsburgh sacked Ravens quarterbacks three times and got one interception cornerback Joe Haden returned for a touchdown.
The Steelers have very little time to waste as they now have to turn around and play the Washington Football Team on Monday afternoon.
