Deshaun Watson’s disciplinary hearing adjourns for the first day, continues Wednesday

Day one has concluded this afternoon for Watson with the hearing expected to start back up on Wednesday:

The hearing for Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson has finished up for the first day. As the battle between the NFL and NFLPA begins in front of the independent arbitrator, the future for Watson and the Browns hangs in the balance.

The NFL seems focused on at least a year suspension for the talented quarterback while the NFLPA may look at the lack of discipline for owners, among other things, to defend Watson.

In the end, Roger Goodell is likely to get the final decision as appeals go through him after the last CBA negotiations.

Tuesday’s hearings ended sometime after 5 PM with Ian Rapoport noting that, as expected, they are likely to continue tomorrow:

An early report noted that a ruling is expected by the end of this week. Barring something unforeseen, Judge Robinson will make her ruling at that time.

After that, if she finds Watson in violation of the league’s personal conduct policy, either side can appeal her suspension but that will go to Goodell.

One day down and another day closer to resolution for Watson and the Browns.
