Deshaun Watson tweets about ‘loyalty’ amid reports Texans won’t trade him

Deshaun Watson and the Houston Texans

Just a few hours after ESPN’s Dianna Russini reported the Houston Texans are avoiding trade conversations involving Deshaun Watson, the quarterback shared yet another strongly-worded tweet. As usual, it seems an awful lot like a subtweet for the Texans, but it’s not totally clear if he’s taking shots at them.

“Loyalty is everything. Don’t you EVER forget it,” Watson wrote on Thursday morning.

It’s not news that the Texans are refusing to trade Watson. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Feb 7. that they are intent upon holding onto the quarterback. But with Watson reportedly willing to sit out (also reported by Schefter), it stands to reason that the Texans would eventually buckle and move their quarterback — the blockbuster could end up netting the biggest haul in NFL trade history.

Watson has demanded a trade, according to multiple reports. His relationship with the Texans is fractured beyond repair, largely due to his frustration with owner Cal McNair.

Over the last few months, he has been active on Twitter with more cryptic tweets than one could possibly imagine.

Tension. Seems. High.

It will be fascinating to see how the Texans proceed with one of the NFL’s best and seemingly most frustrated quarterbacks.
