The Cleveland Browns have extended their lead over the Cincinnati Bengals heading into the locker rooms for halftime of this Week 1 matchup. After new kicker Dustin Hopkins drilled a kick to give the Browns a 3-0 lead over the defending AFC North champs, quarterback Deshaun Watson has now tucked the football and scored himself to give the Browns a 10-0 lead.
He was sprung free by great blocks from left tackle Jedrick Wills and right guard Wyatt Teller on the quarterback counter.
While Watson has not had a stellar half, missing open targets throughout the first 30 minutes, he sits at 10-of-20 for 85 yards through the air. He has added another 32 yards and a score on the ground as well with his legs. On the other side of the field, the highest-paid quarterback in the league in Joe Burrow has just 36 yards on 6-of-14 passing.
The Browns will also get the ball back to start the second half with a chance to double-dip.
rock & roll city coming alive 🎸🤟
