The Big Ten Conference has a lot of talented coaches, even with Jim Harbaugh leaving Michigan for the Los Angeles Chargers job.
Coaches such as Ryan Day and Dan Lanning are at the top of the charts for a lot of reasons. Steven Lasson of Athlon Sports compiled a ranking of Big Ten coaches, and DeShaun Foster is at the bottom of the list, ranked #18:
For a program in need of new energy and an overall spark after the late departure of Chip Kelly to coordinate Ohio State’s offense, Foster makes a ton of sense as UCLA’s head coach in ’24 and beyond. The former Bruin has worked in Westwood since ’17 as the program’s running backs coach and has already provided a spark on the recruiting trail – something Kelly struggled with throughout his tenure. However, Foster has zero head-coaching experience and is taking over this program at a challenging time with the move to the Big Ten.
Ryan Day, Lincoln Riley, and Dan Lanning are the top three coaches, respectively. Once again, it is only up for first-time head coach DeShaun Foster.
