It sure sounds like Washington Resdskins interim coach Bill Callahan isn’t going to shy away from Derrius Guice this weekend.
There has been some question as to how Callahan might balance the workload between Guice and veteran Adrian Peterson.
But an ongoing issue for pass-catching back Chris Thompson might give Callahan some leeway. The interim coach told reporters at the podium Wednesday that Guice was starting to make waves as a receiver before his latest injury.
In other words, it doesn’t sound like there will be much of a pitch count for Guice as he gets back up to game speed, nor is his injury history costing him snaps.
More hints at a big workload:
Bill Callahan won’t reveal his plan for using Peterson and Guice on Sunday. But when pressed on how Guice will be used he said: “he will see a lot of action this weekend.”

Guice last played on September 8, carrying 10 times after missing his rookie season. His big return in Week 11 comes against a strong New York Jets defensive front.
