New starting Boston Celtics point guard Derrick White recently sat down with ESPN’s Malika Andrews to discuss his basketball journey to Boston and the upcoming season. From his game-winning buzzer-beater in the Eastern Conference Finals vs. the Miami Heat in the 2023 NBA Playoffs to White’s role on the team next season, the duo covered a lot of ground.
With veteran floor general Marcus Smart’s departure to the Memphis Grizzlies, White embraces this opportunity and looks forward to taking on a more significant playmaker role, using his ball-handling skills to set up his star teammates, including forwards Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and the newly acquired big man Kristaps Porzingis.
