The Atlanta Falcons are exploring the possibility of trading star wide receiver Julio Jones. If that happens, it won’t be because of performance, but necessity instead.
The team finds itself in a bit of cap space logjam at the moment, and serious relief is needed to sign last month’s draft picks. Options are limited to create that space, so the possibility of Jones playing elsewhere in 2021 remains very real.
Speculation has been running rampant on potential landing spots, and one fellow Alabama product wants Jones to join him. When Bleacher Report tweeted the news of Jones potentially being traded, Derrick Henry responded by saying “TITAN TF UP.”

Tennessee has a serious need at the wide receiver position after allowing Corey Davis to walk in free agency. Not only that, but another pass-catching option, tight end Jonnu Smith, is also gone, leaving a void in the passing game opposite A.J. Brown.
Jones would be more than a capable replacement for those departed weapons, especially when combined with former Texas A&M receiver Josh Reynolds, who signed as a free agent this offseason.
Will it happen? Eh, maybe, maybe not. But the Titans have a void, and they’re a title contender. So from that standpoint, it would make a lot of sense.
