Titans running back Derrick Henry rushed for over 2,000 yards and 17 touchdowns in 2020 with Arthur Smith calling the plays in Tennessee. Smith became a highly sought-after candidate and would go on to land the Falcons head-coaching gig during the offseason.
Fans in Atlanta are dying to see Smith clean up the team’s underachieving mess of an offense, but the first-year head coach may have to do so without All-Pro wideout Julio Jones. It’s not that the team wants to move on from Jones, but with less than a million in salary cap space, the Falcons may have no other option but to trade the former Alabama star.
So where could Jones end up? Bleacher Report posed the question on social media and Henry, another former first-round pick out of Alabama, chimed in suggesting the Titans as a possible landing spot.

Tennessee would make sense on paper and could certainly benefit from a stud WR like Jones. However, the Titans salary cap situation says otherwise. The team has a little over $3 million in cap space — a far cry from what it would require to add Jones, who’s current cap hit is $23 million.
The Falcons could pay some of Jones’ remaining contract in order to make a deal more financially viable, but that doesn’t seem likely considering the team is only moving him to clear cap space.
Atlanta won’t be making any deal involving Jones until after June 1.
