Derrick Henry named Titans’ nominee for Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award

This is the second award Derrick Henry has been nominated for this week.

Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry has been nominated for yet another award.

On Tuesday, Henry was announced as the Titans’ nominee for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award, and on Thursday it was announced he was also Tennessee’s nominee for the Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award.

The award, which was created in 2014 and is named after Pittsburgh Steelers founding owner, the late Art Rooney, Sr., is given to players who “exemplify outstanding sportsmanship on the field.”

Henry is one of 32 nominees (one from each team).

The field of 32 will be whittled down to eight (four from each conference) by the NFL Legends Community, and one of those eight will be chosen as the winner via voting done by the players.

The winner of the award will be announced at the NFL Honors show on the Thursday before Super Bowl LVI and will receive a $25,000 donation to the charity of their choice.
