The Tennessee Titans’ current roster has a lot of players who are easy to root for, like wide receiver A.J. Brown and quarterback Ryan Tannehill, for example.
But Mr. 3-13 himself, NFL.com’s Adam Rank, believes running back Derrick Henry is the player to root for on the Titans ahead of the 2021 season.
I mean, how do you not like Henry? There was one time he was at the NFL Network studios and I saw him walking through the newsroom. Looking at him from a distance, I asked myself, “Who is this lineman walking through here?” And then when he got up close and I saw that it was him, I was like, Whoa, how does anybody ever stop this person?
It’s hard to argue with that sentiment, even with it coming from Rank, as there are a slew of reasons it’s easy to cheer for the Alabama product.
For starters, there are few in the NFL who dominate like Henry yet are as quiet and humble as he is. No matter how much success he has, Henry is always giving credit to his teammates and talks very little about himself.
Adding to that, the man does superhuman things on the field, like throwing grown men multiple yards and putting up stats us mere mortals could only dream of. He’s easily one of the most entertaining players to watch in the league.
Going into 2021 and coming off a season in which he finished with the fifth-most rushing yards in a single season in NFL history, Henry has a legit shot to break the all-time record.
Such a chase will only add to Henry’s legend and could leave the entire football world outside of Nashville rooting for him more so than it does now.
