The Chicago Bulls hope to build on their 2021-22 season this year in efforts to advance further in the playoffs.
The Bulls fell to the Milwaukee Bucks in the first-round last season as they continuously struggled against the top tier teams in the league.
But, that doesn’t scare DeMar DeRozan, as he loves going against the best.
“I love the competitive island that the East is on,” DeRozan said at media day. “That’s what brings the best out of you, when you have the best around you. Put me in a room with the best it’s gonna bring the best out in me.”
For the first time in a long time, the Eastern Conference may be stronger than the West. Teams like the Celtics, Bucks, and 76ers bring back their core along with adding new, important rotation pieces. The Cavaliers added All-Star Donovan Mitchell while the Hawks traded for All-Star Dejounte Murray.
For the Bulls, they also bring back their core, returning 12 players from last season. But for Chicago to take a leap and climb up the East rankings, they’ll need to avoid the strong tide and waves in order to step foot and claim land on that competitive island.
