Derek Stingley Jr. expected to be back, Glen Logan to miss LSU vs. Vanderbilt

Cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. is expected to be back in the mix on Saturday, but defensive tackle Glen Logan will miss again.

It’s pretty easy to assume the LSU Tigers would have had a much better defensive outing against the Mississippi State Bulldogs if cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. had been in action.

He missed the game due to an “acute illness,” but is expected to be back against LSU’s second game of the season as the Tigers travel to Nashville to take on the Vanderbilt Commodores, according to head coach Ed Orgeron in Monday’s press conference.

“I think Derek’s going to be back,” Orgeron said. “I talked to (head athletic trainer) Jack (Marucci). We were waiting for all the medical exams to clear. But I expect him back as early as maybe tomorrow. I’m not sure.”

The Tigers will definitely be without starting defensive tackle Glen Logan, who was not dressed out in Saturday’s 44-34 loss to Mississippi State.

Orgeron did not disclose why Logan was sitting it, and also mentioned he would be back against Missourri.

“Glen Logan will not be available this week and he will be available for Missouri,” Orgeron said.

LSU is set to take on Vanderbilt at 6:30 p.m. CST in Vanderbilt Stadium.
