There is genuine excitement this week in Broncos Country after QB Drew Lock rallied the Broncos (3-4) from a 21-point third-quarter deficit to beat the Los Angeles Chargers 31-30 in Week 8.
That gives the third-place Broncos three wins in their last four outings and puts them a game ahead of the Chargers (2-5) and a game behind the Las Vegas Raiders (4-3) in the AFC West. Meanwhile, as expected, the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs are well ensconced atop the division at 7-1 and currently hold the largest advantage (2.5 games) of any NFL division leader coming out of Week 8.
Below, we analyze the midseason 2020 Super Bowl odds for the Denver Broncos as well as Denver’s odds for winning the division and making the playoffs and opine what — if any — futures wagers are worthwhile at this time.

Denver has gained ground in recent weeks after battling back from an 0-3 start, but the Broncos still only have the 20th-best odds to win Super Bowl LV at +15000. That places them just behind the 2-5 New England Patriots (+10000) and just ahead of the 3-5 Carolina Panthers, 2-6 Dallas Cowboys, 3-4 Detroit Lions and 2-5 Minnesota Vikings — all at +20000.
The Broncos also kicked off training camp tied for the 20th-best shot to win the Big Game, but the odds back in early August were a lot shorter at +5000.

Broncos division betting odds
- Kansas City Chiefs -2500
- Las Vegas Raiders +1000
- Denver Broncos +6500
- Los Angeles Chargers +15000
Denver is 1-1 so far in division matchups, having been pummeled by the visiting Chiefs 43-16 a week before clipping the Chargers 31-30. L.A. also lost to the Chiefs, falling 23-20 at home in a Week 2 overtime tussle.
Interestingly, that leaves the Raiders as the only AFC West team unbeaten in division play, courtesy of a 40-32 triumph over the host Chiefs as a double-digit underdog in Week 5.
There is much to be decided though with eight head-to-head AFC West matchups still to come, including four for the Broncos. Three of those four will be on the road.
Broncos futures picks and predictions
Even with a 3-1 record over the last month, the Broncos still have only beaten the 2-5 Patriots and Chargers and the 0-8 New York Jets. They played the 5-2 Tennessee Titans (16-14) and 7-0 Pittsburgh Steelers (26-21) tough in losses to open the season but were beaten soundly by the Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (28-10).
It doesn’t get any easier, either, as six of the Broncos’ remaining nine games are against teams with winning records.
That means a HARD PASS on the Super Bowl odds for the young Broncos.
Also don’t bother with Denver’s odds to win the AFC (+8000) or the AFC West.
With the expanded playoff field this season — now seven teams from each conference — the Broncos are only 1.5 games behind the 5-3 Cleveland Browns for the third and final AFC wild-card spot so a small wager on the Broncos at +600 to make the playoffs is the only recommended play for optimistic Orange & Blue fans wanting to put down a futures wager on the team.
