Denver Broncos pick up WR Jerry Jeudy’s fifth-year option

Jerry Jeudy’s rookie contract will extend through the 2024 season, as the Denver Broncos have picked up his fifth-year option.

Jerry Jeudy hasn’t had an ideal first three seasons in the NFL after being drafted by the Denver Broncos No. 15 overall in the 2020 draft. Despite not putting up headline-worthy numbers, the team’s front office decided to pick up his fifth-year option, which will keep him under his rookie contract through the 2024 season.

After having an uncertain quarterback situation in his first and second seasons, many believed Year 3 would be better with the franchise acquiring Russell Wilson. While 2022 was the best season of his young career, his full potential has yet to be revealed at the NFL level.

Now, with a year under his belt with Wilson and a new, Super Bowl-winning head coach in Sean Payton, 2023 could be Jeudy’s year to break out.

Despite constant trade rumors over the last year, the Broncos have remained committed to Jeudy and intend to utilize him as one of the few centerpieces of the offense.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow Jeudy and other former Alabama players in the NFL as the 2023 offseason progresses.
