[autotag]Denny Hamlin[/autotag] is still looking for his first NASCAR Cup Series championship. Hamlin and the No. 11 team have been to the Championship 4 several times but haven’t sealed the deal. Now, with a strong three-win start to the 2024 NASCAR season, the Joe Gibbs Racing driver cemented himself as a championship favorite before the Cup Series race at Kansas Speedway.
Before the event at Kansas, Hamlin joined the FOX Sports broadcast during the rain delay and discussed various topics. Near the end, Clint Bowyer asked Hamlin to call his shot about winning the 2024 Cup Series championship, and this is what he had to say.
“This is it,” Hamlin said. “This is the year it’s gonna happen.”
Hamlin could’ve declined to comment about it but decided to claim that it is his year to get it done. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver doesn’t lack confidence, which is one reason why he is such a good driver. With three wins to start the 2024 NASCAR season, Hamlin is one of the championship favorites, and it wouldn’t be shocking to see him finally lift the trophy in November.
