Denny Hamlin gives honest review of NASCAR racing on Indianapolis oval

Denny Hamlin gives an honest review of NASCAR racing on the oval layout in Indianapolis. Find out what Hamlin said about the Brickyard 400!

NASCAR will officially return to the oval layout at Indianapolis Motor Speedway this year. It will be the first oval race in Indianapolis for the NextGen car and the first since 2020. There is a lot of excitement over the return of the Brickyard 400, and one of the best NASCAR Cup Series drivers has given his thoughts on the subject.

[autotag]Denny Hamlin[/autotag] was among the drivers testing at Indianapolis this week and talked about the NextGen car on the oval layout. Hamlin gave an honest review that will excite those who enjoy racing on the oval instead of the road course.

“This car is actually made better for the oval, in my opinion,” Hamlin said. “I believe that it’s got enough drag where drafting will be a factor when it comes down to it. I think that, generally speaking, I think restarts are gonna be crazy. It’s gonna be about track position, execution on pit road. It’s gonna be who can master the short run and the long run to get their car to run.”

The Cup Series will race at Indianapolis on July 21, representing the final race before the Olympic break. It’s uncertain how the NextGen car will race with at least 36 entries on the track, but NASCAR should be excited. Hamlin’s comments seem to be a good thing, as the Cup Series is meant to race on the oval layout in Indianapolis.
