Five-star linebacker [autotag]Demarcus Riddick[/autotag] will officially announce his commitment on Wednesday, even though he is already committed to a program.
The Chilton County native committed to Georgia last November, but is beginning to have second thoughts on his decision.
“I mean, I grew up there so it’s home for me. I love the community but at the end of the day I don’t feel like it’s home,” Riddick told 247Sports. “It don’t feel like home no more.”
So where is his head at? Georgia is still in the mix, and so is Alabama and Auburn. The recruiting process has been grueling, and says that his final recruiting decision will be a birthday present for his mother.
“I mean, I’m kind of glad and ready to get it all over with,” Riddick said. “(I’m) ready to get to the school that I’m going to be at for the next three-to-four years.”
He shares that the community and coaches are great at both Alabama and Auburn, but there is one thing that makes Auburn stick out.
“Just everything,” Riddick said about Auburn. “I like the community, I like the family, I love everything. I love everything about the school.”
Ahead of his commitment, neither school has received an updated crystal ball prediction for Riddick. However, On3 has given Alabama a 39.2% chance to flip Riddick from Georgia, while Auburn has a 31.7% chance.
Riddick is the No. 26 overall prospect in the 2024 class according to 247Sports composite rankings. He is the No. 3 overall linebacker and the No. 3 overall prospect from the state of Alabama.
