Deion Sanders sends message to players after 4-1 start: ‘Quit acting like it’s a surprise’

Coach Prime gave his players a stern reminder during a team meeting

With the Buffaloes riding high after beating UCF and improving to 4-1, Colorado football head coach Deion Sanders reminded his players that their success shouldn’t come as a surprise.

As the Buffs prepare for Saturday’s game against Kansas State, here’s what Coach Prime told his team during a recent meeting (h/t Well Off Media):

“We’re supposed to be here. You act like it was a miracle that you went to Orlando and whooped them, UCF… Great everything, great execution, great coaching all week. We’re supposed to do this. Quit acting like it’s a surprise. It shouldn’t be a surprise to y’all. It surely ain’t no surprise to me because y’all got much more in you. It starts today.”

Additionally, Coach Prime told his Buffs that although they have a winning record, “we still aren’t where we wanna be.”

Colorado has already matched last season’s win total but two more victories are still needed to reach a bowl game. And considering how volatile the Big 12 appears, the Buffs should be setting their sights on the conference championship game.
