Following Saturday’s dominant win over the Arizona Wildcats, Colorado football head coach Deion Sanders looked back at his receipts, including one from former United States President Barack Obama.
Obama took a lighthearted jab at the Buffs on Friday night during a rally in Tucson, stating that Colorado has a mere “couple of good players.” He also urged the crowd to pick the Wildcats over the Buffs as a ploy to the Arizona crowd.
The remarks drew attention across social media ahead of Saturday’s game, and Coach Prime was asked to speak on it after the victory.
“President Obama is everything to me. I love him, I admire him, I respect him tremendously. But, I heard what he said,” Sanders said with a smile. “He was here, and he had to play the political game… President, you’re my man, I love you, I appreciate you. But come on, dawg.”
Spirits are high for the Buffaloes as they stand 5-2 on the regular season, and Coach Prime certainly had time to address Colorado’s doubters, even in jest.
