Deion Sanders asked about potential contract extension with CU Buffs

Coach Prime gave his thoughts on the possibility of signing a contract extension

Deion Sanders has coached five games for the Colorado Buffaloes football program, but the hype and excitement in Boulder is unprecedented.

Naturally, other programs and perhaps NFL teams are likely thinking long and hard about trying to pry Coach Prime away from CU. When asked about a possible contract extension with the Buffs, he dropped an honest answer (h/t Nikki Edwards of Rivals):

“That’s a wonderful gesture. I love it. But I’m smart enough to know and old and wise enough to know that that can flip on you instantaneously. The fan only blows when you hot. My mama said that, not me. So if y’all want to get mad, get mad at my mama.”

Coach Prime is always good for a golden anecdote, and this was no exception. Of course, it’s still early in his tenure with the Buffs, but something of the sort could be a possibility, especially with the unbelievable turnaround that has happened thus far.
