Hideo Kojima’s return to game development after his split with Konami, Death Stranding, will be available on Xbox Game Pass this week, after rumors have been swirling for days.
Death Stranding currently does not have an Xbox console port of the game available, and therefore the title will be only available on Xbox Game Pass for PC.
This makes Death Stranding the second series that was originally a Sony-published exclusive to appear on Xbox Game Pass, following MLB: The Show becoming available on Xbox and Game Pass.

The PC Game Pass Twitter account has been teasing the arrival of Death Stranding on the subscription service this week, with several “landscape” pictures that fans immediately recognize as being from the game.
The final tease, and confirmation, came in the form of an altered screenshot of the game, showing the PC Game Pass logo on a briefcase from Death Stranding – the game’s logo also makes it into the screenshot, for the avoidance of any doubt.
Death Stranding will be available on PC Game Pass on August 23, where all subscribers will be able to play the game for as long as their subscription remains active.
Death Stranding is an experimental and interesting game, one where thick story-heavy cinematics are punctuated with long periods of relative silence while crossing an abandoned wasteland. It manages to be an atmospheric marvel, and won awards for both performances and game direction.
The game launched on PS4 in 2019, and has since been ported to PC with a Director’s Cut, which later became available on PS5, with graphical enhancements. Earlier this year, it was announced that Kojima would be working on a new title with Xbox using their cloud services to enhance the game, though we haven’t heard any details yet.
As of right now, we have no reason to believe an Xbox port of the game is being developed.
