With the Philadelphia 76ers returning home on Wednesday to play host to the Washington Wizards, they are looking to keep a three-game win streak going while short-0anded.
Joel Embiid will miss his second straight game due to a non-COVID illness which isn’t too surprising considering his condition. However, the Sixers also will be without his usual replacement in the starting lineup.
De’Anthony Melton, who started the first two games of the season when Embiid sat, is out for the matchup with the Wizards due to lower back stiffness on his left side. Matisse Thybulle will start in place of Melton.
De’Anthony Melton is out tonight with left lower back stiffness. Matisse Thybulle will start alongside Tyrese Maxey, James Harden, PJ Tucker, and Tobias Harris. #Sixers

The Sixers look to extend their win streak to four and sweep this quick home-and-home series with the Wizards. To do so, they will need others to step up and replace the production of Embiid and Melton.
