The Seahawks are catching the Cardinals at the right time. Even though they’re first in the NFC West standings, Arizona’s roster is currently ravaged by injuries and at least one of their two most important offensive players has already been ruled out for Sunday’s game.
According to a report by Ian Rapoport at NFL Network, Arizona’s superstar wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins has been ruled out and will miss his third straight game due to a hamstring injury. Meanwhile, their MVP candidate quarterback Kyler Murray will be a game-time decision. Murray has missed the last two weeks with an ankle issue.

This is a big deal for Seattle. When healthy Hopkins is a top-five receiver and he’s averaged around 100 yards per game in four meetings with the Seahawks.
Obviously, Murray’s status is even more important. In the eight games he played before his ankle sprain, he was having a career-best year, posting 17 touchdowns to go with seven interceptions and adding 147 yards and three more scores as a rusher. He still leads the league in completion percentage (72.7%) and yards per pass attempt (8.9).
If Murray can’t play, the Cards will start Colt McCoy, who is dealing with a pectoral injury of his own.
