Daytona 500 weather forecast shows optimism for racing on Monday

The 2024 Daytona 500 was moved to Monday due to the weather. However, the forecast for Monday shows optimism for racing at Daytona.

The 2024 Daytona 500 and NASCAR Xfinity Series race have yet to run yet. Due to the weather in Florida, the races on Saturday and Sunday were forced to be moved to Monday. However, the Xfinity Series race at Daytona on Monday morning had to be delayed until after the NASCAR Cup Series due to lingering weather. What about the Daytona 500?

According to Weather.com, it will be 61° and sunny when the 2024 Daytona 500 is set to be underway. In fact, there is a 1% chance of rain in Daytona Beach, Florida. The Xfinity Series may have been delayed due to lingering weather, but barring anything unexpected, Daytona 500 coverage will be underway at its expected time of 4:00 PM ET, with a green flag of 4:30 PM.

It has been a long three weeks for NASCAR after moving the Busch Light Clash at The Coliseum to Saturday night and the Daytona 500 to Monday evening. Thankfully, the worst appears to be in the rearview mirror, and NASCAR can look forward. One driver will be a Daytona 500 champion at the end of Monday if nothing changes.
