Days after drafting Jordan Love, Packers release QB Manny Wilkins

The Packers released second-year QB Manny Wilkins, just days after taking Jordan Love in the first round.

The ripple effects of drafting Jordan Love in the first round are already beginning for the Green Bay Packers.

Two days after the conclusion of the 2020 draft, the Packers released second-year quarterback Manny Wilkins.

An undrafted free agent signed out of Arizona State, Wilkins spent the entire 2019 season on the Packers practice squad as the team’s third quarterback.

Wilkins, 24, played in three preseason games in 2019. He completed 2 of 6 passes for 35 yards and rushed seven times for 24 yards.

The move leaves the Packers with Love, Aaron Rodgers and Tim Boyle at quarterback. The team is also expected to announce the signing of at least one undrafted free agent quarterback.
