Two drivers in an open entry know they will officially be racing in the 2024 Daytona 500. On Wednesday night, [autotag]David Ragan[/autotag] and [autotag]Anthony Alfredo[/autotag] locked themselves into the Daytona 500 on single-lap qualifying speed. Ragan drives the No. 60 car for RFK Racing, while Alfredo drives the No. 62 car for Beard Motorsports.
The notable driver missing from this list is Jimmie Johnson, who must qualify for the Daytona 500 through the duels on Thursday night. Kaz Grala, B.J. McLeod, and J.J. Yeley will join Johnson in those efforts. As for Ragan and Alfredo, they know that nothing will change their plans for Sunday. The Daytona 500 is officially in their sights.

Ragan was among the most likely drivers to qualify on speed, but Alfredo wasn’t a favorite. It was represented by the emotions from Alfredo and the No. 62 team when Grala couldn’t put a time on the board. Plenty of nervous drivers will go into tomorrow’s races; however, Ragan and Alfredo can sleep well, knowing the hard part is out of the way.
