One of the draws for Davante Adams to sign on with the Raiders was to be closer to his family in California. Some of whom have never seen him play in person.
So, it was a priority for him to get them out to see him. That meant plunking down some serious coin on one of the spendy suites at Allegiant.
“I spent about a half a million dollars on a Raiders suite,” said Adams. “That’s probably one bad thing about coming here is the suites are significantly more expensive. But it’s good for the family. I probably won’t ever see it, but it’s fun.”
It’s worth every penny for Adams, whose grandparents will attend one of his games for the first time.
“They’re coming to the game. So, I’m excited,” Adams said of his grandparents. “They’ll be here. My grandma, we already got her set up at one of the MGM resorts. So, yeah, she’ll be in town. And then my daughter’s birthday is next week, so she’ll be out here just hanging out in Vegas. Probably on the slots or something, chilling. Just hangin out, so it’s good to have them in town.”
Having his family on hand will no doubt have Davante playing inspired football. Though it may be hard to tell the difference considering the kind of numbers he puts up even when his family isn’t there to cheer him on.
