Davante Adams’ pitch to Aaron Rodgers on playing for Raiders: ‘I’m here’

Davante Adams’ recruiting pitch to current Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers isn’t a complicated one, but he knows it’s a good one.

Davante Adams’ recruiting pitch to current Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers isn’t a complicated one, but he knows it’s a good one.

So, why should Rodgers follow Adams to Las Vegas?

“That I’m here,” Adams told Cameron Wolfe of ESPN from the Pro Bowl Games on Sunday. “I think that’s a pretty good one.”

Adams and Rodgers played together in Green Bay from 2014 to 2021. Over eight seasons, Rodgers and Adams connected 624 times for 7,649 yards and 68 touchdowns, the most touchdowns between a quarterback and receiver in franchise history.

A trade sending Adams from Green Bay to Las Vegas last March split up the prolific passing tandem, but the All-Pro receiver isn’t hiding the fact that he wants the future Hall of Fame quarterback to re-join him in Las Vegas.

“Duh. Why would anybody not do that? One hundred percent. That’s my guy, obviously. Wishful thinking but we’ll see what happens,” Adams said.

Without Rodgers in 2022, Adams still caught 100 passes for 1,516 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Might 2023 bring them back together?

The Raiders are going to be in the market for a quarterback after benching Derek Carr late in the regular season and setting the stage for a trade out of Las Vegas this offseason. Rodgers is weighing his options, which include returning to Green Bay, retiring from football or requesting a trade.

If Rodgers and the Packers split, a reunion with Adams isn’t out of the cards.
