What does the addition of Davante Adams to the Jets offense mean for Garrett Wilson?
In a word, excitement.
Adams, traded to the Jets (2-4) from the Raiders this week, revealed that more than a year ago him and Wilson talked about such a scenario.
“We talked about this a little over a year ago, about how we wish we could play together,” Adams said. “Here we are now.”
Adams might be replacing Wilson as the Jets’ No. 1 receiver for the time being, but Wilson does not sound like that bothers him all that much at all.
Wilson admitted to ESPN that Adams was “one of his favorite players” growing up.
“It’s a great opportunity for me to learn a lot. Hopefully, we can get this thing rolling and start winning games,” Wilson said.
Adams and Wilson’s first appearance together will take place on “Sunday Night Football” in Week 7 against the Steelers (4-2).
