The Philadelphia 76ers are getting set to undergo a new era in franchise history led by coach Doc Rivers and the flashy new President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey.
Morey is a guy who is known for making big moves and doing whatever it takes to put his teams in a position to win a championship. During his time with the Houston Rockets, Morey assembled a roster that made the Western Conference Finals in 2015 and 2018, but they came up just short to the Golden State Warriors.
As he enters his first season in Philadelphia, he is obsessed with winning a title. He has accomplished a lot in his executive career except that one title and he believes this Sixers team can do it.
He hopped on a podcast with NBC Sports’ John Clark to discuss his title obsession:
Now there’s really nothing I care about. My kids are grown, obviously didn’t care about them enough to stay with them for a year. So literally the only thing left is to win a title and this seems like the place.

Morey has made a lot of bold moves in his career as he played a hand in revolutionizing basketball towards small-ball so that would only leave winning a title to fill on his resume. Led by Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons, the Sixers have a star duo in place to get the job done. Now, it is up to Morey to put the right pieces around them. [lawrence-related id=38850,38843,38844]
